Diamond Grinding
Diamond grinding is by far the most popular floor preparation method by contractors. Planetary Diamond grinders are very versatile and are used for coating/texture removal and Preparing a substrate for a new floor system. Diamond grinding is slower than Shot Blasting and usually takes multiple passes to achieve our desired CSP profile. Diamond grinding also grinds the surface flat, unlike shot blasting. We use HEPA dust collectors on all of our equipment used to prepare the surface.

Shop Blasting
Shot Blasting also known as "Bead Blasting"
is a mechanical method of achieving a certain CSP
(Concrete Surface Profile) for the coating system intended for installation. The CSP ranges from a CSP 1 which is similar to acid washing to a CSP 10 which is very aggressive. For most of our floor systems, we use a CSP of 2-4 for maximum penetration and adhesion. Shot Blasting is best used on, Bare Concrete, Low Areas, Thinner Mil Coating Removal. We use HEPA dust collectors on all of our equipment used to prepare the surface
